Sir Walter Scott is the greatest Scottish writer. He was born on August 15th in 1771 in Edinburgh and died on September 21st in 1832 in Abbotsford when he was 61.
His father was rich and his mother was the daughter of a professor of medicine. His parents had 12 children.
Sir Walter Scott was a poet and a writer. When he was a 25 year old man, he composed ‘The Heart of the Midlothian’.
After that, he learnt German and translated anonymous ballads. His main works are: ‘The Lady of the Lake’, ‘Waverley’, ‘Rob Roy’, "Ivanhoe", and ‘The Bride of Lammermoor’.
If I’ve chosen this personality, it's because he was a very romantic writer!
