Once upon a time, there was a Scottish science prodigy. He was a descendant of James Watt. His name was Robert Watson Watt and you won’t believe what he invented! The Radar!

I know, you think the Radar is such a bad invention because it has put into troubles some of your relatives and friends but we are not speaking about this radar actually!

Sir Robert Watson Watt did many research to find a way to detect aircrafts that could not be seen, with the motivation he had, he invented the radar in 1935.

When he was studying at the University of Dundee, one of his professors, Dr William Peddie, saw the beautiful and promising future in this young man and offered him a job as his assistant. What an opportunity! Of course, Robert accepted!

Absolutely! During the Second World War, he is the man who partially kept the British coast safe with his invention, the Radar. His invention helped achieve victory!

Because of his massive contributions to the war victory, Robert Watson Watt was knighted in 1942 and became Sir Robert Watson Watt.

When he grew old, Sir Robert loved to tell the story of how his own invention backfired on him.  It seems to me that he was speeding along the highway and was arrested by a police officer who had measured his speed with the help of a speed radar derived from his invention.  After asking how the police officer had known his speed so accurately, Sir Robert answered “If I’d known what you’d do with it, I would never have invented it “.
