Macbeth was born around 1005, and he died on August 15th in 1057. His father, Findlaech MacRuaridh, was earl of Moray, a province in northern Scotland and his mother, Doada, was the second daughter of Malcolm II. He was King of Scotland from 1040 until his death.
On the one hand, Macbeth was a good king for Scotland. He was very generous, he always gave money to poor people. He enacted several good laws and required officers of the court to defend women and orphans anywhere in the kingdom.
On the other hand, William Shakespeare wrote a tragedy in which Macbeth killed Duncan, the king of Scotland, to take his place, but it was not the facts. That’s why nowadays everybody still thinks Macbeth was a very mean person and a murderer. How unfair!
