    Do you know John Knox?

You don’t! So let me tell you about him.

John Knox was a Scottish clergyman and leader of the Protestant Reformation in Scotland.

He was born around 1513 in Haddington. His father was a farmer and his mother died when he was a child. John Knox was educated by the Scottish Church.

He became a Catholic priest. However he converted to Protestantism because his best friend was advocating Protestantism.

In 1560, Protestantism was established as the national religion in Scotland and Knox was appointed minister of St. Giles’s Cathedral in Edinburgh.
