   James Watt was born on January 19th in 1736 in Scotland.

   His father was a ship owner and his mother came from a rich family and she was educated.

   He worked at the University of Glasgow and became interested in steam engines*.

   He improved the steam engine because he thought they wasted too much energy. Steam engines developed and helped the Industrial Revolution.

   The watt, the unit of power, was named after him.

    He died on August 25th in 1819.

    Finally, I think this person is a genius because when he improved the steam engines, he changed the economy of the world.
