Alexander Graham Bell is a Scottish inventor who invented the phone.

He was born on March 3rd, 1847 in Edinburgh and died on August 2nd, 1922 in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Most people know Alexander as the inventor of the telephone but in fact, he first got interested in the science of sound because both his mother and wife were deaf (poor him!). His experiments on sound eventually led him to device a system to send voice signals down a telegraph wire.    He was able to get some funds and hired his famous assistant Thomas Watson (no, he's not Emma Watson's dad lol) and together they were able to come up with the telephone.

The first words spoken over the telephone were said by Alex, they were "Mr. Watson, come here, I want to see you."  (I must admit that it sounds a bit silly but still it worked and Mr. Watson came over!)

Bell didn't like to have a telephone in his study as he found it intrusive. It's hard to believe that he invented it but still didn't want to use it.

Alexander didn't get the middle name Graham until he was 10 years old; when he asked his father to give him a middle name because he was jealous of his brothers (I honestly can't understand what's so cool about having such a long name).

Upon his death, every phone in North America was silenced for a short time to honor him. (If I were them, I still would have used my telephone... I mean, it's not that I don't want to honor him, but I just can't get over my telephone! )

To conclude, I just want to thank him for inventing the telephone. It's an absolute life-saver for me as I almost can't live without it.  Thank you Alexander! :D
