Ewan McGregor was born on March, 31st in 1971 in Scotland.
Both his parents are teachers, and his uncle, Denis Lawson, is an actor. Denis played "Wedge Antilles" in Starwars.
Ewan left school in 1987, when he was only 16, to start a career as a drama actor. Pushed by his parents, he studied theatre in Guildhall School of Music & Drama, but he never obtained his diploma because he started playing in the series “Lipstick on your Collar” in 1993.
The year after, he gained media interest for his role in "Shallow Grave", which met an unexpected success.

He got married to Eve Mavrakis, in 1995.
In 1996, he interpreted Renton, the main character in “Trainspotting”.
3 years later, he became famous for his interpretation of the young Obi-Wan Kenoby in “Starwars".
At the 2011 Seattle International Film Festival, he was awarded the Donostia Lifetime Achievement Award and became the youngest recipient ever.
