Andrew Carnegie was born on November 25th, 1835 in Scotland and he died on August 11th in 1919 in Lenox (USA).
His family was very poor, his father was a weaver and his mother earned money by binding shoes. Although Andrew Carnegie had little education, he grew up in a family that believed in the importance of books and learning.
He was a Scottish American industrialist who led the enormous expansion of the American steel industry* in the late 19th century. I'd like to add Carnegie grew up to become one of the wealthiest businessmen in America and he gave a lot of money to charities, just like Bill Gates nowadays.
Andrew Carnegie said: "The man who dies rich, dies disgraced ".
On the one hand, he began working in a factory, earning $1.20, and on the other hand, he ended up building his own factory, "Carnegie steel company" and began building plants all around the country. He lived the American Dream.
